| The Department of Biochemistry was started in the year 2014. The department first started with guest faculties and permanent faculty, Dr. Sheena Philip, joined on 2019. Department is now running with two permanent faculty and a guest faculty. This unique course, covers areas in basic Biochemistry such as biomolecules, enzymology and intermediary metabolism as well as advanced areas in Biology such as cell biology, physiology, immunology, molecular biology, genetics and recombinant DNA technology
The department has the distinction of having over 80% first classes. Graduates from the department have been selected for MSc programmes through entrance exams in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Neurosciences and other Life Science courses in leading scientific Institutions.
